Ens en sortirem !

Posted by
Graciel·la (Vic. Catalonia) (CAT. New European State, Poland) on 11 September 2015 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

First, my remembrance and tribute to the victims of Sept. 11.
As I am sure we are all aware, today is a sad day for all those people in the world who believe in democracy.

Everything will be fine !

September 11th. Is also Catalonia's National Day.

Catalonia is an old nation. On September 11th we commemorate the defeat of the catalan troops in 1714 against the troops of Philip V of Spain. After 14 months of siege of Barcelone, the lost of the battle involved the suppression of the historical rights and institutions of Catalonia.
Nowadays, the feeling of independence from the state is becoming stronger and stronger.

In 2012 we held a historic demonstration. 1.500.000 people, so civic, peaceful claim the right to be a new European state independent of Spain.

in 2013 the Catalan Way (Via Catalana), was a 480 Km (300 mi) human chain in support of Catalan independence . The human chain followed the ancient Via Augusta, from Le Perthus (Vallespir) up to Alcanar (Montsià). They participated at about 1.600.000 people (oficial count).

Around 1.8 million people staged a massive protest the last year in Barcelona for the right to vote on Catalonia’s political future. The demonstration had a V shape – the V standing for “votar” (voting) and “voluntat” (will) – and its participants also formed a human mosaic of the Catalan flag.
Everything will be fine !!
